More about Arthur Agate
Arthur Agate is the founder of Kalipay Negrense Foundation, a nonprofit organization providing educational opportunities and access to health services for impoverished children in the Philippines. Born in Cebu City, he grew up in relative poverty, but despite this, was able to excel academically. His passion for helping others led him to pursue a degree in social work at the University of San Carlos.
After graduating with his degree, Arthur began working for a local charity organization where he discovered his true calling—to help those who needed it most. He soon left the organization and founded Kalipay Negrense Foundation in 2007. Since its inception, it has provided educational resources such as textbooks and school supplies as well as health support programs including medical assistance and vaccinations to over 10,000 children living in poverty in Negros Occidental province.
In addition to his work with Kalipay Negrense Foundation, Arthur has worked with other organizations such as UNICEF and Save the Children to further expand his reach and impact on those who are underserved around the world. He has been recognized internationally for his efforts by receiving numerous awards including a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader award in 2018.
Arthur Agate’s commitment and dedication to helping those living in poverty have made a lasting impact on thousands of lives across the Philippines. Through his tireless effort and leadership at Kalipay Negrense Foundation, he will continue to strive towards building brighter futures for underprivileged communities around the world.
In addition to his work with Kalipay Negrense Foundation, Arthur has been an advocate for social justice and the welfare of underserved communities. He co-founded the Visayan Forum in 2012, a non-profit organization dedicated to aiding vulnerable populations such as victims of human trafficking and those living in poverty.
