PicoScope 2204a Vs 2205a Review
How to use an oscilliscope 2204a vs 2205a has some very nice features. For example it offers serial decoding for CAN, I2S, I2C, RS232, SPI, LIN & FlexRay which is very rare in this price range and an one of the major advantages of this scope. It also offers a spectrum view (plotting amplitude against frequency) which is useful to find noise, crosstalk or distortion in signals. The probes are soldered which is an advantage over some E-Bay scopes that use a strain relief crimp inside the group alligator clips to ‘crimp’ the ground wire.
Unfortunately the software still needs some improvement. It does not stick close enough to the Windows UI model which makes it sometimes difficult and time consuming to work with. Especially for new electronics learners or people that don’t have experience with regular bench scopes this can be frustrating and may even make it hard to follow the signals on the screen.
PicoScope 2204A vs. 2205A: Comparing Two Popular Oscilloscope Models
The hardware is a good choice if you need a compact USB oscilloscope for service/testing/debugging in the field or for your lab on a desktop PC. The small USB box saves a lot of space on your workbench and it can be easily carried around to remote service jobs etc.
